Summary
The "Blue Angel" is a prominent label for claiming environmentally friendly products in Germany. The Jury Ecolabel decides whether a proposal for a new specific product group is pursued and a catalog of appropriate award criteria is developed. In support of such as decision, the German Federal Environment Agency, as office of the Jury Ecolabel, entrusts a consortium of experts with the realisation of expertises.
In the first project Hydrotox developed expertises on the award criteria for the new product groups " textiles" (RAL-UZ 154) and " shoes " (RAL-UZ 155). In a follow-up project, the award criteria for "sanitary additives compatible for sewage treatment plants" (RAL-UZ 84a/b) and for "de-icers for movement areas of airports"(RAL-UZ 99) have been revised. Currently, an expertise for a new product group, "semi-finished leather" is carried out
The revised award criteria can be downloaded from the website of Blue Angel.
